Sunghyun H. Hong is a doctoral candidate in the joint PhD program in Social Work and Developmental Psychology at the University of Michigan. She is a behavioral and mental health equity scholar with an interdisciplinary background spanning social work, developmental psychology, neuroscience, and data science. Her program of research examines the behavioral and neural mechanisms, relational processes, and sociocultural contexts that shape risk and resilience in behavioral and mental health outcomes, using quantitatively driven mixed-methods approaches. This work centers on generating theoretically grounded, empirically informed insights that strengthen social work practice frameworks for behavioral and mental health support across the lifespan.
